MUSAABOUT

The Multispecies Union Space Agency (MUSA) is an interspecies speculative collaborative project between the seven kingdoms of live - Bacteria, Archaea, Protozoa, Chromista, Plantae, Fungi and Animalia - dedicated to the exploration of space.

The purpose of the Agency shall be to provide for and to promote, biodiversity, cooperation among the living organisms and their ecosystems in space research and technology.

Scheme of a multispecies space station
The station is composed of interconnected modules, each labeled according to the seven kingdoms of life.

Symbiotic Juno Spacecraft
The Symbiotic Juno Mission, explores Jupiter through a revolutionary blend of biology and technology. The spacecraft utilizes organic solar panels and bioluminescent systems to sustain its journey. Its mission is to study Jupiter’s atmosphere, magnetic fields, and moons, seeking insights into the origins of our solar system.

Sympoietic-Relation-Ship: Metanotrophs / Snails / Mussels / Sponges / Tubeworms / Crabs (2020)
This low orbit modular spaceship provides an ideal habitat for Methanotrophs—bacteria that oxidize methane, the only known biological way to reduce this potent greenhouse gas. By creating a symbiotic environment for Methanotrophs and deep-sea organisms to thrive in the air, the spaceship helps mitigate global warming. At its core, an artificial hydrothermal vent powered by oxidized methane sustains this unique ecosystem. These satellites play a crucial role in the biological methane sink.

Sympoietic-Relation-Ship (SRS)
The Sympoietic-Relation-Ship (SRS) is a modular space station (habitable artificial satellite) in low Earth orbit. It is a multi-species collaborative project between Fungi, Corals, Trees, Lichens, Algae, Animals, among others. The station serves as a microgravity space environment research laboratory in which sympoietic relationships are developed in complex, dynamic, responsive, situated, historical systems. The SRS is suited for testing the spacecraft systems and relations required for possible future long-duration missions on Spaceship Earth.

Sympoietic-Relation-Ship: Ice / Lichen / Caribou / Moose / Livertape Worm (2021).
Glaciers around the world are disappearing due to global warming. In the Himalayas, the communities are creating artificial glaciers called “ice stupas” to solve their water problem.

In Earth low orbit, special ships are creating artificial glaciers collecting water from winter areas and slowly releasing it in spring areas where water is most needed.

Many various symbiotic relationships can be seen in this satellites, similar to the one in the undoubtedly vast frozen wilderness of the Arctic.
